Message from Trevor's Mom - Wednesday, April 25, 2007
I thought my heart would be broken, but instead I realize how much fuller it is for having the privilege to have been Trevor’s mom. We have all been praying for a miracle together, but as Pat reminded me, the miracle happened the day Trevor was born. He has given so much in his short life, I know he was sent here so we all could witness life in its purest form. I don’t have a lot of energy left to write much more, but I felt it was important for Trevor for everyone to look up on this bright sunny day and watch Trevor soar. My precious baby peacefully started his journey to heaven at around 8 o’clock this morning.

A hundred years from now
It will not matter
What your bank account was,
The sort of house youI lived in
Or the kind of car you drove
But the world may be different
Because you were important
In the life of a child
Trevor is our son -- a beautiful baby boy who fills us with joy.. He was diagnosed with AML a rare form of leukemia at birth and desperately needed a bone marrow transplant -- but the doctors informed us on March 15, 2007 that they were not able to find a match for Trevor in the International Bone Marrow Registry. Since that news, the doctors gave Trevor about 6-8 weeks unless a match could be found. Unfortunately, Trevor was not able to hold on and on April 25, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. he started his journey up to heaven.
This lack of matching donors is a crisis that affects thousands of families every year. It only takes one match to save a life. It could be you, and it is so easy to find out if you are match for someone in need.
It does not require a blood or marrow sample, simply a swab of some cells from your cheek, and the compassion to help save a life. You don't even need to be a blood type match, just a tissue match. Although thousands came out to support Trevor and get swabbed, Trevor was not lucky enough to find a match in time. Please don't let that happen to another family. Please take action today by booking an appointment. Let this be Trevor's legacy.
Please forward this information to everyone you know and encourage each of them to do the same. We are attempting to reach millions with a national grass roots campaign and need your help. There is hope with compassionate people like you.
To those of you who took the time out of your busy lives to generously try and help our son, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
God bless you!
