HOW YOU CAN HELP

There are many ways that you can get involved and honor Trevor:

1) Support the latest fundraising & awareness campaign:

"Pay It Forward" Trevor Kott Pin Campaign (stay tuned for more info soon)

A Marathon for Trevor - December 2, 2007

2) Get a cheek swab to see if you are a match for someone through the National Marrow Donor Program. To find a marrow donor center near you, search by State on the National Marrow Donor Program website or you can reach them by phone at 1-800-MARROW2 or 1-800-627-7692. You may also contact the Red Cross for information at 1-800-462-9400. You can also contact your local blood bank and they shoud be able to give you information on how to get swabbed in your area. You do not need to be a blood type match, just a tissue match. If you live in the Sacramento region, find a local Sacramento blood bank, or call the Northern California Blood Source 1-800-995-4420. The cost is $52 per test. If you can not afford this fee, there are programs available to try and defrey the cost. Please ask your blood bank representative.

To be eligible you must be able to answer YES to the following requirements:

Age: I am between the ages of 18 and 60.

Health: I am in overall good health and meet medical guidelines.

Commitment: I am willing to donate to any patient in need and I understand the donation process.

I live in the United States or Puerto Rico: If you live outside the United States or Puerto Rico, please contact a donor center in the country where you live.

I am not in the U.S. military: If you are in the U.S. military, please contact the C.W. Bill Young Marrow Donor Center in Kensington, Md., to join the Registry.

I have not already joined: Whether you join the NMDP Registry online or in person, you are part of the same Registry. If you have previously given a blood sample or cheek cell sample to be tested for the Registry, you do not need to join again.

If you meet the requirements above, join the registry now.

3) Donate your baby's umbilical cord blood through the National Marrow Donor Program

Trevor Kott Fund
c/o Umpqua Bank
4011 Plaza Goldorado Circle
Cameron Park, CA 95682
(530) 677-5000
